Mr Clément VILLIEN

Forest Program Officer in French Guiana, WWF France

Clément Villien is in charge of the Amazonian forest program at the WWF France office in Cayenne, French Guiana. He is also the coordinator of the ECOSEO project, an ambitious cooperation initiative bringing together Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and the Amapá state of Brazil to establish an ecosystem services observatory of the Guiana shield – northern part of Amazonia. His mission contributes to the preservation of the very rich biodiversity of the region, by fighting against threats such as goldmining development but also by promoting a sustainable development for the territory.

Clément graduated from AgroParisTech, the Paris institute of technology for life, food and environmental sciences, and holds a master degree in environmental economics. He previously worked at the French Ministry of agriculture as an agri-environmental policy expert and analyst.
